The BFG Legacy Project is beginning – and you can be a part of it. By the time the last units in 20 Armoured Brigade leave Sennelager in 2019, British Forces will have been stationed in Germany for nearly 80 years. To mark this lengthy period of overseas deployment, HQ BFG is producing a book: British Forces in Germany – The Lived Experience.

Our team are here to listen and not to judge. We can give you factual information and 'signpost' ways forward to assist you.

We can also speak with you in confidence if you, or someone you know, are absent without leave (AWOL).

Royal British Legion - LifeWorks for Families Programme - 2017-2018

RBLI have provided a current list of Lifeworks for Families courses taking place in 2017/2018.
Background.  As part of the New Employment Model's (NEM) Partner Employment Project (PEP), the MOD has been supporting the Lifeworks Families programme for spouses and civil partners of Service Personnel.

1.         The courses are run by Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI).

2.         The courses are FREE to all spouses and partners of any serving (or recently discharged) member of the Armed Forces, including Reserves.

3.         The Lifeworks Families course provides expert advice and guidance by developing key skills such as CV writing, job searching, interview techniques, aptitude awareness, managing change, motivation and building confidence. Attendees are supported and helped to identify personal strengths and career goals in order to gain future employment.

4.         RBLI have an excellent website specifically for Lifeworks Families It has details of what the course involves, when courses are taking place and information about extra support RBLI can offer.

Carillionamey: Customer Translator Service

Did you know that Carillionamey have a Language Line?

They subscribe to a service called Language Line, which allows them to create a three way call with a customer who isn’t fluent in our language and may require an interpreter.

If you need the service, or know someone who would benefit, call the Carillionamey 
0800 707 6000 number and state the language you need when you’re through to an advisor. 
The advisor will then get a translator on the line.

New SSAFA Single Point of Contact for RAF Personnel

As part of their contract to provide a Personal Support & Social Work Service (PS&SWS) to the Royal Air Force, SSAFA have introduced a new Single Point of Contact facility.
This single point of contact will complement exisiting SSAFA contact arrangements and offer a telephone call handling and referral capability which particularly supports those Service personnel and families who are located away from on-station welfare provision.

They have teams from U7s - U13s for boys & girls in Year 1 (from age 6 years) through to Year 9. No previous experience needed - all coaches are qualified and DBS checked.
